The alternative start to The Wasdale Crack is also very popular. Start on the right side of the ledge.
1) 4a. 20m. Traverse out to the arete on the right and follow it to the shoulder. The thin right-leading crack above the traverse is Slingsby's Variation, S.

Start at the bottom of Wasdale Crack.
1.) 16m, traverse delicately right until a pull around onto the arete can be made. Climb the arete to the shoulder.
2.) 4m, pitch 2 of the Wasdale Crack.
