As described in the 2010 CC guide, climbing at Symonds Yat is only permitted on the north-west facing cliffs - from The Introductory Rocks to the Final Zone inclusive.
Dates: 1 March to 30 June
Reason: Nesting Birds
Peregrine falcons have established a nest since 2019 on Strathdon, in the White Wall. Climbers should therefore avoid all routes from Motorway Madness to Night Nurse, inclusive, during the restricted period.
Rockfax Description
Interesting climbing that needs a steady approach. Climb the wall and then the technical hanging corner to a ledge. Continue up the line of the corner for 5m and then move leftwards to a good ledge. Finish up the short groove above. © Rockfax
UKC Logbook Description
Climb the wall and the groove above (delicate) to the ledge atop the pillar (optional belay on threads). Continue up the line of the groove for 15 feet and traverse leftwards to a good ledge. Finish up the short groove above.

βeta: As of 2023-05-29 The peregrines are back in the nest on Strathdon with a hatched baby. The current BMC restriction status is inaccurate and needs to have the "2020 update - restriction lifted" part removed... according to the log I'm not the only one confused by this. | βeta? | |
