Misha 12 Aug AltLd O/S Short roping practice. Led the first half to just above the shark’s fins. A bit of technical walking followed by short pitching. The traverse R across the slab is sketchy - best to either go up a small gully on the left hand side of the slab to a grassy ledge or take a direct line up the right hand side of the slab to a thread belay. Went up between the shark’s fins via overhanging moves and a heel hook, decent 5a! Easier on the other side. After the fins, moved left to go up a rib L of a grassy gully. Tim led the easier, more broken ground above (still some short technical sections). Topped out just below the summit.

Chris Manasseh 19 Apr - Avoided crux move as a bit too spicy unroped and alone. Might have been okay if I'd committed but seemed really 'out there' for the grade.

Stuie73 1 Apr, 2016 Solo Amazing day!! Decided to have a go despite a good amount of snow still about, including on the narrow ledge used to traverse off the 1st pitch, slightly nerve racking when soloing and a switched on approach needed. A real challenge but very enjoyable and not a single other person on the face. No surprise there!!

Simon Cahill 14 Aug, 2013 AltLd rpt We approached from the path to Sub Cienifion Arete, staying high above Llan Bochlwyd. A better approach is either of the two paths branching off the main Cwm Idwal path, pass the northern most tip of Llan Bochlwyd, after 300m branch right (faint path). Locate the buttress with three almost horizontal lines of quartz with a deep cleft on it's right, move right about 75m and up 30m to find the start of Shark Buttress. (Teaching ML Nav for Jack on approach & exit)
