Access Banned
In June 2022 signage was installed by the landowner indicating that they do not wish crags on the west side of the dale (Griff's, Black & Deckout, etc.) to be climbed on.
Negotiations to secure access have failed to reach a positive outcome. As such climbers should be aware that the owner does not permit access to west/lower Blackwell Dale. Any climber choosing to visit therfore does so against the wishes of the landowner and should politely leave without complaint if asked to do so.
Essentially a sit-start to 'Ovine Low Left'. Usually wet! Sit-start where the 'undercut bulge' begins - to the right of Ru's Traverse. Left hand on an obvious crimp, right hand (notionally) on sidepull under the roof, with right foot on obvious large foothold. Using right hand on sharp crimp/pinch, roll over to join set of holds that flow into Ovine and finish up this.
