Paul Roberts 29 Sep, 2018 Solo O/S Fantastic scramble! The move up to the cat walk was the trickiest and a rope (with a person to hold it) would have been welcomed but hey ho! The Chasm was pure awkward fun and definitely worthy of a repeat. Nice open, easy scrambling to finish.

Simon Cahill 13 Aug, 2016 - MIA practice day with Luke & Dom. Ascend Chasm Face, had a look at the crack to the right and above the Catwalk (Steve Ashton book page 64, top right of photo) well protected but hard in wet conditions & boots. Went back on route but didn't fancy the "caving expedition" and "The Vice" so crossed the fallen block forming The Arch and escaped up easy slabs. Descent via faint path into the first gully which becomes steep and requires abseiling, final pitch is over 25m but can be split using a less than perfect anchor mid pitch (behind the waterfall). Caution on the final abseil the narrow groove (avoidable) 2m below the anchor can and did take the sheaf off the rope.

Lordnorth 14 Apr, 2016 2nd Read extensively about this route. Some great notes below; a must read! Lead by Mike Raine via PYB on advanced scrambling course, moving togrther as a three. What a route! Dry and sunny initially, passed the chockstone to a wide ledge and then over the tricky corner to gain the chasm and up. Next ledge led up to the diff wall where I gave the "ape like swings" a go. Fun. Catwalk was spiced up by Doug getting his boot jammed. After much coaxing and a swift thwack the boot came free and caught me square in the face! Poses for a pic then on to the bowels of the mountain. Keep low on the squeeze and do a sideways "caterpillar" to make it to the chimney. Simply superb climb up using drop-knee and bit of thrutching. Reborn out the top and then off on some bouldery route findinf on superb rock. Overall a great route with 4 cruxes, each of a different nature. Unmissable!!

jimorothy 12 Jun, 2015 Lead Outrageously good fun! Had done Chasm Face VD first and actually think the scramble is better. Rachel found the dark squeeze harder than the vice of the VDif. I love a thrutch. An absolute classic. Got rope out for the steep bit up to the Catwalk. Up and down the aptly named Catwalk for a photo shoot several times... (checked out the Arch Tempter escape too... how many people have had to cross that swearing to cut down on pies after having been spat out of the squeeze ?)

Cornish boy 6 Jul, 2013 2nd O/S A memorable route! The actual grade 3 scramble was shorter than I imagined [one pitch] but brilliant. Great climbing on the steep wall below the exposed catwalk, before entering the bowels of the mountain for some pot-holing! Do NOT try to do the cave section with your rucsac on! We hauled them up after Sean had climbed it. Very tight in there but some good old-fashioned thrutching got us to the top. Afterwards, we moved together over easier ground and scrambled to the summit of Glyder Fach. Overall, this capped off a fantastic day out on superb rock in stunning weather.
