17m. Start up the ledges as for Giant before cutting immediately back left on a flake up to a ledge beneath the arete. With no runners of worth, make a couple of moves up on crimps (possible skyhook placements on the left) to a better hold where a stiff pull leads to better edges and an easy top out.

βeta: Inspired by Steve after meeting him on the day of his ascent 2 years ago. Climbed it the same way he did, starting from the left, at the base of Maelstrom, makes sense this way. The crucial cam in the pocket is good, but agreed, strenuous to place. E6 6a. Superb climbing.
