An alternative finish to The Bluebottle or indeed Spiders Web. From the stance on The Bluebottle, go up just left of the desperate looking groove to a big flattie - care with the rock required and don’t stray into the proper choss further left! Crucial green cam before you go for it. From the flattie swarm up and right to below the roof (so-so purple cam, may be another green) and traverse right on flatties to good cams in the steep crack (yellow and blue). Now the fun begins! A hidden pocket on the sloping ledge above will aid progress, as will a heel hook. Awkward baggy jams and general thrutching (try to find something for your left foot) might gain enough height to pull up on a poor two finger pocket on the face right of the crack so as to stand up and hit the good jams above. Finish up the crack much more easily after taking a breather for a minute or ten. Another yellow or blue cam handy to protect the moves onto the next ledge and especially so if you’re going to resort to aiding. Possible FFA (thinking it was The Bluebottle, which would make it a sandbag worthy to a Northumbrian VS) Misha Nepogodiev and Sam Simpson, 21 July 2018 - unless anyone else pops up to claim it!
