90m, 3 pitches. This spectacular waterfall forms only rarely, but is really worth seeking out when it does. Given it's low altitude it is unlikely to be in condition unless the burn beside the bridge at The Crask Inn is frozen. The climbing is steep and sustained, plus with added commitment due to the remote location. A truly magical Scottish winter day out.
Description as first ascent.
P1 35m Climb the right hand side through a steep section at 10m, then traverse right on small rising foot ledges to a snow scoop belay right of an ice pillar.
P2 40m Move left around the ice pillar and climb a vertical section of chandeliered ice (crux) until reaching hanging icicles. Move left under these into steadily easier ground trending rightward and reaching turf. Continue rightwards onto a turfy ramp and a block belay.
P3 15m Climb a turfy groove at the end of the short ramp to the top.
