From the Madone de Fenestre hamlet, reach the Pas de St.Robert at the foot of the ridge Follow the crest of the ridge to the top of the 1st of 6 gendarmes (II) and descend to a gap. (This gap can be reached directly from below the 'Pas' itself by following a slanting gangway/couloir). Climb a couloir (III) to the crest of the ridge. Follow the crest of the ridge and a series of gaps, at times avoiding a gendarme (III/III+). Short slabs, cracks and rock blades are the features of the route. After the 6th gendarme, reach an obvious platform (III); climb a short steep slab (IV+, peg, delicate) to another platform which is crossed to a crack on the R. of the crest. Climb the crack (III) and easier rocks (II) to the summit.
