800m. Central pillar of Piz Palu. Start up the couloir to the right of the pillar (threatened by seracs) until it is possible to join the ridge on a snowy shoulder, follow this on the left side of the crest until you reach a snow ridge which leads to the top

βeta: The rock section is normally completed in rock shoes. Due to the aspect of this face, it held onto old snow which made for slow progress in big boots. We started left of the serac threatened couloir which is a bit chossy and slower but objectively safer.
