Duncan Beard 9 Mar Lead First proper Grade III lead. Not in great condition, soft slabs over softer powder on slopey rock & not much gear. Mainly careful rock hooking. Would be a lovely romp if properly frozen up. Lead 2 pitches then let Pip finish off over the last move & up the gully.

stevelismore 26 Jan AltLd rpt Last climbed 9 years ago when it was fat with snow and the crux was getting through the cornice. This time it was raining and the route had scarcely any snow cover at all. The first pitch which I led in particular was bare, running with water and with few gear placements so it was a bit hairy-fortunately I managed to find a few bits of frozen turf so the warthogs and the bulldog earnt their keep. Top two pitches led by Sameer- middle pitch a series of rocky steps with reasonable gear then a snowy slope to the top. When we topped out the weather suddenly changed and a cold gale in our faces for the walkout down the Fiacaill Ridge froze all our wet ropes and clothing. 12 hours car to car. All in all a grand Scottish day out!

Mr. K 2 Dec, 2018 AltLd Climbed in two pitches, I lead pitch two from the Andromeda cut-off to the top. Snow was deep and unconsolidated and didn’t improve with high. Slow and tenuous to lead, the snow was much better in Coire an-T Sneachda the day before. We’d been planning on Andromeda but thought better off it with the snow conditions.

Took the start quite direct to make it more interesting but ended up having to take a lot of time because the leader ahead of us strayed on to appetite for destruction and had a bit of an epic, all walked off together in the dark in a whiteout resulting in a very long day, but worth it. Lots of spindrift again, and a fair bit of deep powder on the approach, upper part of the route and the walkout.
