Danpablo89 10 Jun, 2019 Solo O/S Great route. Grade 3 with plenty of options for escape if required. And plenty of options to make more difficult if you wish.

humptydumpty 14 May, 2019 Lead O/S Upper buttress was well sketchy - heather and loose rock all over. Maybe not the right line?!

Julesthe1st 19 Apr, 2019 Solo O/S Seemed to have have the entire Eskdale valley to ourselves. A Wonderful experience. Bit of a shock topping out to see hoards of folk traipsing up Scafell. Great rock on the scramble but for me too little exposure and too disjointed to be 3 stars . Still a super outing with some fun slabs to climb.

PilarMartinez 19 Apr, 2019 Solo Walked from Eskdale what it was extremely nice and quiet. Long walk in to get to ill crag but completely worth it. We took a short rope and we used it on the central slabs taking the line in the middle which it is a climb compared to a scramble. The rock is so good from beginning to end. We walked back from Ill Crag through Great End and Esk Pike. It took us 8 hours car to car in the full sunshine, blue skies and very little wind. Top day!!

epic ed 23 Feb, 2019 - Tried to follow description in scrambles in the Lakes guide but don't think we got anywhere near it! A few spicy bits/loose rock but rest solid easy rock. Moved together.

beds74 9 Aug, 2018 Lead Working Rock n Ridge.co.uk with Kevin, his first scramble. Two nights wild camp, lovely lovely scramble. Would be pretty tricky i think to route find in bad vis...Route up the main slab looks terrifying but holds are there.

Tom McCabe 12 Jul, 2017 Solo O/S I bet the actual line is really good! I followed my nose and only matched the middle slab I think. Plenty of absorbing climbing though, need to come back and do it properly.

Mark Eddy 21 Sep, 2016 - Working. First time i've done this route and can say it's thoroughly enjoyable. We walked in from Brotherilkeld and over Great Moss, which is long but worthwhile. Definitely worth 3 stars

Joyce 7 Apr, 2015 Lead O/S Moved together up this with Rose. Fantastic climbing on good, rough rock. More continuous than it looked from the tent on The Great Moss. The giddy book wasn't much use so we followed our noses, hunting out continuous slabs of rock. The final staircase was a super finale after some sketchy moves way above gear on the Upper Buttress.

masa-alpin 2 May, 2004 AltLd O/S Started from Eskdale. Very few people even in approach, let alone in Ill Crag (none)! It took too long, and so we descended to Wasdale, took taxi to go back to Eskdale.
