Overview

The Kong Running story started nearly some 30 years ago, in the humble beginnings of a fledgling manufacturing company, King Kong Climbing Walls. Founded by Paul “Corny” Cornforth, the wall manufacturing business bloomed, cementing King Kong Climbing Walls as an industry leader, and now the biggest climbing wall manufacture based in the U.K.

However, the expansion wasn’t just limited to manufacturing and in 2015 Kong Adventure, a brand new ultra-modern climbing centre opened its doors. Half show room, half entertainment complex and 100% awesome, Kong Adventure was built adjacent to the prodigious Planet Fear, a shop dedicated to selling the best outdoor kit.

Meanwhile, Paul had discovered “Feet in the clouds”, and decided to take up fell running whilst healing from an injury that prevented climbing. A perfect storm of circumstance meant that Kong ended up owning the shop unit adjacent to their climbing centre, and Kong Running was born.

A shop like no other, independently owned and staffed entirely by people who are dedicated runners and climbers, Kong Running set about becoming a mecca for off road running. Sponsoring races both locally and afar, plus hosting our own series, we’ve established ourselves firmly in the running world. Whether you're doing your first trail race, or your hundredth fell race, Kong Running will have the kit for you.
