Remote and peaceful, Wasdale Campsite is ideally situated for climbing England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike. The birthplace of British rock climbing, Wasdale provides a great base for climbers of all abilities.
Stayed here in November 2007.
Excellent
Showers take 20p's, toilet paper in the sit down bits, hand dryer, hairdryer (lol), separate sinks for washing dishes and it has a clothes washer and dryer for longer / muddy / sweaty stays.
in November it was quite windy but trees round the edge provide some shelter and there are plenty of flattish pitches. shop is ok for emergencies but don't rely on it for your main shop.
All in all an excellent site, don't know what it's like in high season though
