Overview

Big enough. Around 12 ropes in place plus lead climbing. 6 autobelay systems so suitable for billy no mates. No bouldering - rubbery but thin floor. Grades mainly 5, 5+ and 6a.(full range F4+ to F7a+) Mainly vertical but with nice little overhangs. The nearest I have come to climbing on real rock at any climbing wall. [Colin Matheson 2/06]

Under 18s getting into the wall must be accompanied by an inducted adult. One inducted adult can be responsible for 2 children in the wall.

Kids climbing club.
Saturday - 9.30 - 10.45 for 8 - 12 years. 11.00 - 12,15 for 13 - 16 years.
Cost is £28.00 for an 8 week course.

Inductions
Red point/auto belay inductions are
available depending on staff
availability.
Please contact the Centre to book on 0191 2640014.

The Newburn Wall is 12.5 meters at its highest point,
providing excellent challenges for both experienced and
novice climbers.
An induction is required before use.

Great facility opened Jan 2006. Build by Rockworks and still a slight smell of resin. Gloomy corner feels like standing at the bottom of Great Wanney but interesting routes using holds and lots of features.

A very interesting wall with a lot of scope for variation on the routes. Automatic belays and multi pitch section are a good training aid for climbers of all abilities.
