Overview

The via ferrata de Ponoig is named after the huge rock cliff presided over by Polop, popularly known as the Sleeping Lion. The road consists of two quite similar sections, being mainly vertical it goes up by a good amount of well arranged staples. It has athletic, aerial and quite spectacular views.

Once the ferrata is finished, we must turn to the right along a path, there is a sign on the ground indicating the direction of the rappels. The road becomes long we only have to follow the marks. This begins to descend and we find areas equipped with cables and some staples to facilitate the descent.
