Overview

‘The Bothy’’ is a traditional stone cottage situated at Clachnabrain in beautiful Glen Clova. It is ideally situated for winter climbing in Coire Fee and Winter Coire, or exploring the boulders at Red Craigs. Accommodation is all on one level and offers one double bedroom with en-suite shower room. There is also the option of a double or single fold-down bed for use in the lounge. The lounge has a feature fireplace with woodburning stove, flat screen TV, and DVD player. The compact kitchen has everything you will need, with electric oven and hob, microwave, and fridge. There is an enclosed garden with private parking area, lawn, patio area and seating. There is also a shed containing wood for the stove where bikes can be stored.
Heating is via a cosy woodburning stove which is supplemented by electric panel heaters. A supply of kindling and logs is provided. There is a selection of books, games and DVDs in the lounge. The Bothy is also equipped with hairdryer, heated towel rail and radio alarm.
Power and fuel for the wood-burner are included in the rent, as are bed linen and towels. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome free of charge, but we respectfully request that they are not allowed on furniture. The Bothy operates a strict ‘no smoking’ policy; please do so outside the dwelling.
The nearest shop is in Kirriemuir, 8 miles away. The nearest restaurants are at The Clova Hotel, 6 miles, or The Drovers at Memus, 7 miles. Both offer very good food at reasonable prices. There is no mobile phone signal at the cottage, but reception can be picked up a short walk up the hill (!), a half a mile walk north or drive about a mile south. There is a public phone box at Clova village (6 miles).
