Located on the Western outskirts of Sheffield, the 142nd Fulwood Scout Hut is ideally situated for those wishing to enjoy The Peak District for all sorts of activities such as Walking, Climbing, Hang Gliding etc... Groups can book 'The Hut' for weekend accommodation from Friday night (Any night during School Holidays)
Designed for and used by Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts 'The Hut' is never going to find itself with any star rating. However with the donations made by those using 'The Hut' for parties and weekends we are slowly able to make improvements to the accommodation.
There are no bunks or beds, so air beds or camp beds are recommended. However the main Hall is approximately 11m x 7m and can accommodate 20 people comfortably (more if you prefer to be cosy). There is also a smaller 'meeting' room that can take about 5-6 people. Both rooms are heated effectively by wall mounted convector heaters which are controlled by a timer and thermostat in the main hall. There are two separate toilets, one suitable for people with mobility problems, and there is a single shower as well.
There is a Kitchen equipped with a Hob, Oven, Fridge, Kettle and basic cooking equipment.
There is an area behind 'The Hut' suitable for outdoor cooking or BBQs, which includes a purpose built shelter for those rainy evenings.
A large field behind 'The Hut' which belongs to the local Health Authority Sports Club, can be used for football and other games.
Trailers can be secured to a hitch at the front of the building and locked with your own hitch lock.
