Overview

About 3m high, 15m along traversing wall in corridor adjoining main sports hall.

Must be a member of a club to use it.

The holds (which are numbered) get very slimy very quickly (bring chalk). From this it sounds rubbish - but in fact, with some thought, single moves and sequences of all standands can be found - and there are many different traverses from sustained 4b to 6a or more.

Formerly the haunt of Johnny Dawes (that man again!) when he was doing his degree. OxMC are trying to recreate the dyno problems he created.

The wall was built in the 70s. It consists of 117 holds set in a brick wall. The holds were numbered in Michaelmas term 1999. There number of problems on the wall now exceeds 300. They can be found at: http://users.ox.ac.uk/cgi-bin/safeperl/climbing/iffley.pl
