Overview

Cairn Ban Mountaineering Club (CBMC) has been dedicated to hillwalking and mountaineering in Scotland since 1981. We are based in Kilbarchan (south-west of Glasgow), but our members live much dispersed throughout the central belt of Scotland and far beyond.

We have a very mixed membership, from relative novices who enjoy the security of a group, to experienced mountaineers (including an Everest summiteer and mountain rescue team members). Some, due to family and other commitments, venture out only a few times per year, while others get out on the hills nearly every weekend (and on days in between as well!).

The mainstay of of activities is a fortnightly Sunday outing during the winter, but we have various other events well. We are affiliated to the MCofS.
