Overview

Toilets and washroom only [Guildford MC]
A very pleasant site, despite lack of amenities.
You don't need to advance in book and somebody will come round in the mornings to collect monies.

bit of a rocky trek up to campsite about 10 min walk but nice and quiet. Cows, sheep and horses but i think it added to the feel of the campsite. beautiful views no showers or hot water but for £2.50 per night what do you want ? just make sure you take everything you need cos the nearest climbing shop is in hathersage about 20/30 mins away . 8/10 its cheap, clean and a nice old farm campsite

Small site, but has a lovely view from every corner. Just remember to take a commode (& the kitchen sink!)though, because the facilities are "BLEEP!"

Still £3 (May 2012). Good views (aka exposed). Toilets have spiders, loo roll, and running cold water but no lights or locks; they are an outhouse of the owner's farmhouse, which itself is dilapidated. Sheep forced their way into a closed tent and ate our food! Baa. Approach is uneven and muddy with cows, horses and sheep roaming. Not for the faint of heart, but nonetheless we pitched at the far opposite of the DofE crowds and slept just fine.

Site was nice and quiet despite other sites in the area being full. The walk up the hill is a bit of a drag, but it's very close to Birchen Edge. £3pppn, which is collected at the ungodly time of 7.30am.

Now £3.00 per night. Good value despite the walk.

As long as you don't mind basic facilities and sheep and cows visiting your tent in the night, this campsite is top.

I stayed here, for my Duke of Edinburgh bronze expedition in June 2006 and it was enough to put me off camping for the rest of my life!! Didnt sleep a wink because of another group of rowdy teenagers and sheep who managed to escape into the field at 3 o clock in the morning!! Very basic facilities but it was fun! shame i had to walk 10 miles the next day on one hours sleep!!

Nice site, but very basic. Long walk up a hill to the site from where you park your car(Robin Hood Pub Carpark. Other than the walk up the hill with all your gear, for £2.50pppn its top stuff. Plenty of good walking to be had form here.

You're not allowed to take your car to the campsite, you have to walk from the Car Park which is situated next to the Robin Hood Inn Pub with your tents etc (It's 950 paces from car park to site!!) but for £2.50 a night per person it's ok. The farmer (80yrs old!) comes round early in morning to collect the £2.50

This campsite can become infested with Duke of Edinburgh schoolkids in season but for Gardoms and Birchen it cannot be beat.
