Overview

Situated at the heart of the tranquil village of Obertraun the Obertrauner Hof offers 12 spacious en-suite rooms many of which have balconies opening
out to breath-taking panoramic views of the Dachstein Massif. Our position ensures easy access to local amenities; shop, bank, tourist office and restaurants, all of which are within easy walking distance.
The spacious lounge area in our Guest Room features a TV, a pool table, a selection of hot and cold drinks and a Childrens room with games and books.
We are pleased to offer our guests free; Tea & Coffee, WiFi, Car Parking.

The village of Obertraun is set on the eastern shores of the beautiful Hallstatter See Lake in the Inner Salzkammergut region of Austria. Boasting a unique blend of 7000 year old history and stunning natural beauty, the Inner Salzkammergut is a special place to visit. Indeed, it is not only the regions cultural heritage but also its majestic mountains and unspoilt nature that led the UNESCO to declare it a cultural and natural World Heritage Site, with the beautiful village of Hallstatt at its heart. The ferry will transport you across the lake, providing a stunning panorama of Hallstatt, where you can spend a day exploring the narrow streets, churches and museum, The pristine nature of the lakes, mountains and woods in the shadow of the Dachstein provides a real paradise for the wide range of activities that can be enjoyed in the area. The area has a lot of walking variety to offer, we hope that we can provide you with a taster.
We will be very happy to assist you in organising a personal itinerary, which might include walking at;
Hallstattersee, Koppental & Koppenwinkl, Gosausee, Ewigewand most of which are within the Traun valley and so quite flat.
We provide a local walking map and the walks are well marked by way-markers, so making self-guided walking possible.
Walks on the high Krippenstein Plateau are also possible from mid June to the end of October and would include; Heilbronner Kreuz, Gjaidalm, Simony, Sarstein.
Walks are available for all grades of walkers.

The area is ideal for a get-away break. The peaceful community, the quiet ebbing of the lake and the stunning beauty of the area, are sure to relax and re-vitalise.
Our position means that the local attractions are all within 5km, with excursions to St Wolfgang, Bad Ischl ... all a possibility, which we will be happy to assist you organise.
