Edmund Hillary – A Biography is the story of the New Zealand beekeeper who climbed Mount Everest, covering his his time in the New Zealand airforce during the Second World War, the background to the first ascent of Everest in 1953 and the death of his wife and daughter in a plane crash in 1975. The Ogre is one part biography of the Karakoram mountain and one part personal account of of Doug Scott and Chris Bonington's first ascent and dramatic descent on which Scott suffered two broken legs and Bonington smashed ribs.
