Join Lowe Alpine at Kendal Mountain Festival and help them celebrate their 50th Anniversary. They will throwing a weekend long 'House Party' with free archive film screenings, talks, prizes, music, moustaches and the infamous '#IceAxeChallenge' in the festival Village.

In 1967 the Lowe brothers lived in Ogden, Utah. It was here that they developed the first ever internal framed backpack . The family home is where it started for Lowe Alpine. 50 years later Lowe Alpine will recreate that space at Kendal Mountain Festival, and throw a house party to celebrate!

Inside the house you will get a feel for life in this outdoor mad, all-American family. With authentic decor from a family obsessed by hunting, climbing and skiing and a workshop space replicating the basement Greg designed Lowe Alpine products from.

At the house party festival goers will have the opportunity to take part in the #IceAxeChallenge. A game for those who can both wield an ice axe and be quick off the draw with a fake moustache.

Throughout the weekend there will opportunities to watch archive films featuring the Lowe brothers. See Kendal awarding winning film Metanoia (2015), Oscar nominated Fall Line (1989) and Bridvail Falls (1972) amongst other publically unavailable movies.

On Friday evening Lowe Alpine welcome brand ambassador and festival stalwart Andy Cave to present a talk celebrating 50 years of adventures in the mountains. On Saturday night there will be a Birthday bash to celebrate the anniversary, expect the ultimate 70's house party - Ski jumpers, Jeff Lowe tribute moustaches, drinks and music to boogie on down to.

You will find the Lowe Alpine House Party in a yurt on the festival village, between the VATS bar and the Shackleton Tent. All events are free of charge and open to all festival goers. Join us for a house party throughout the weekend and celebrate 50 years of Lowe Alpine.

"Lowe Alpine has a long standing relationship with Kendal Mountain Festival so it feels like the perfect place to celebrate our 50th anniversary. We want to take this opportunity to give something back to the outdoor community who have supported us over the last five decades." - Joe White, Brand Manager
