Deuter Guide Packs Re-designed for 2017 Gear News

The legendary range of Deuter Guide packs have been redesigned for Spring 2017 to be lighter, more comfortable and more practical for climbers, mountaineers, and ski tourers.

The Guide continues to use the Alpine Back System which has been improved to enhance the overall fit of the pack. To increase air flow the foam used in the backsystem has been enhanced to allow better ventilation.

The air channel around through the lumbar section of the pack has been deepened to improve air circulation and the shoulder straps have been fitted with softer foam to increase the comfort and feel around the collarbone area.

The Guide has also been updated to keep up with changes in modern ski and climbing technology. As skis are getting wider at the tip and tails so have the ski attachment points on either side of the pack, and the new Guides can fit even the widest of modern powder skis.

Similarly, with the changing shapes and sizes of ice axes, the ice axe attachment points have been improved with new aluminium buckle loops to make it quicker and easier to attach and remove axes from the pack. The loops also double up as volume reducers for the lower section of the pack.

The Guide keeps up its status as a bombproof pack, the side entry zip is a large YKK #10, and the pack uses 330D Micro Rip Pro 6.6 / Super Polytex material to ensure its strong and tear resistant. The pack comes with the usual high quality features that users have come to expect from Deuter, such as a valuables pocket, SOS label, wet laundry compartment, and a removable waist belt.
