Back in the day creating cutting edge clothing was more of an art than a science. We were just beginning to explore the possibilities of wicking fabrics, combination materials and lightweight textiles. The original Vapour-Rise range was born of this process, and a desire to make one jacket that you could wear all day.

Renowned for its breathability, warmth and wind resistance, Vapour-Rise quickly found a cult following amongst UK climbers and hill goers.

But times change. Today we have more fabric technologies at our disposal than those original designers could have dreamed of. It was time to bring a fresh set of eyes and some cutting-edge science to the design.

Using prototype technology, we could observe the interaction between the fabrics in greater detail than ever before. Working alongside a crack team of testers from the Association of Mountaineering Instructors (AMI) we tested many different fabric combinations before finally selecting the new range.

The Ridgeline combination has been created for maximum breathability, the Alpine Light balances breathability and protection, while the Summit offers exceptional warmth and breathability.

Building on the design philosophy of the classic jackets, the new generation of Vapour-Rise has been tested to perfection.

Vapour-Rise Summit Jacket
