Description

The new Hispar is a truly lightweight down jacket for high mountain use. The push to take increasingly light gear on every kind of route can mean that those difficult decisions between weight and warmth become even more awkward. The Hispar is intended to make them a little easier. As warm as our Mustagh Jacket, the Hispar is nearly 300gm (or 11oz) lighter.

To achieve the finished weight of 740gm (26oz) the design has been stripped down to the essentials for a high mountain jacket - box walls, chest pockets above harness level, an internal water-bottle pocket and a large peaked hood. The inner fabric is superlight MX, the outer is all Drishell.

†Please note: we make our stuff sacs big enough to allow fairly easy stuffing rather than reducing the jacket to the tightest minimum. What air is left in the packed item will easily be compressed out of it, if you are squashing it into a small space in your rucsace. Tiny stuff sacs look impressive: but unless you are a sac-wrestling fan, fighting the gear into them day after day can be an unncecessary chore.

‡Please note: The optional GoreTex outer involves an extra layer of fabric which dramatically improves the bad-weather performance of this item, but also adds considerably to its weight and bulk.
