First Ascent is pleased to announce the imminent arrival of "Luci Lights" - lightweight, compact, waterproof, inflatable solar rechargeable lights.

We discovered these lights a couple of months ago and knew straight away that we had to bring them into the UK. The company behind Luci Lights, Mpowerd, was founded in 2012 with the goal of making an affordable clean energy lighting product that people could use in almost any situation — from camping adventures, to trekking and mountaineering, to backyard parties.

Mpowerd aim high with Luci. They want to empower people who live without electricity in developing countries. Luci lights are clean and safe – the absolute opposite of the toxic and expensive kerosene lamps so many depend on. MPOWERD has built a sustainable business model that aims to fund donations to needful communities in the developing world, via first world sales. To date they have donated 250, 000+ lights, which they estimate has positively impacted 1,250,000+ lives.

Luci taps into a source of light that is limitless and readily available to everyone on our planet — the Sun. Advancements in renewable tech literally put the power of the sun into a device that fits in the palm of your hand. Luci lights will provide 8+ hours of lighting from 6 to 8 hours solar recharging.
