British climber Emma Twyford has officially signed with Mountain Hardwear on the UK team.

“I am very excited to be on board with Mountain Hardwear and to have people to work with and learn from such as Tim Emmett. It's nice to be joining a brand where you feel like part of the family.”

The 25 year old Exeter born girl grew up in the lakes and has spent the last few years in Sheffield however has recently made the move to Wales to make a solid commitment to her climbing.

“Like anybody else I'm trying to live the dream and enjoy life. Climbing is not just a hobby it's a passion but sometimes its going through a bit of trial and error to find out what you truly love about the sport. For me I started off climbing outdoors when I was 7 and that is where my heart lies. I have tried competition climbing and I enjoyed it but I'm definitely an outdoor girl. Until recently I have worked full time in Sheffield but I have just moved to Wales and am working part time at the Beacon climbing centre with the aim of more time to climb!”

With some pretty impressive climbs under her belt Emma's plan is to continue to improve.

“The last month or so I have been exploring some of the bouldering areas in Wales with some mileage on V7s and a couple of V8s and one V8/+ flash. The mountain boulders are impressive and it has been great to explore some new climbing territory. All this is preparation for the coming sports and trad season where I will hopefully be fitter and stronger!”
