Described by UKC as:

"One word, BRILLIANT"

and by Climb Magazine as:

"Easily the best pure climbing film out this year"

Welsh Connections was released late in 2009 and since then has been generating a lot of interest in Welsh climbing among overseas as well as British audiences.

The Vancouver Jury stated: "The viewer is drawn right into the gripping climbing experience of UK climber Timmy Emmett who is climbing two lines on smooth looking slate on a cliff in Wales. The film is very well shot, especially the audio composition is beautifully done. While the waves are breaking below and the soundtrack carries the moment one can still hear Tim's breath and puff."

Welsh Connections is produced by the Llanberis based film-makers Bamboo Chicken Productions.

Director Dave Brown said: "It's great to win an award overseas, particularly as it helps to generate interest and appreciation of the quality of climbing here in Wales. It's interesting that Vancouver picked out the Pembroke section to focus on. We were all totally gripped behind the cameras, and it's good to see that the tension comes across!"
