This follows on from winning the prestigious Banff Exposition Award in 2008.
Judges Roger Smith and Guy Proctor described the book thus:
"Infectiously enthusiastic and a smorgasbord of inspiration and information combined in the wonderful images and topos. Shaggy and inclusive rather than clinical and definitive, with a frankness that's totally winning, and in its invitation for readers' contributions totally modern and in the 'wiki spirit' too. Exciting and brilliant."
Author Chris Craggs was unable to attend the ceremony due to a prior commitment with some Kalymnian limestone but he sent a short speech thanking those involved with the book.
An extract of Chris' speech is below:
"Heartfelt thanks must go out to several people including my co-author, Thorbjørn Enevold (Mr Lofoten) who realised what we could achieve and threw himself into the project, carrying the locals along with him. He managed to gently nudge me in the direction of the guidebook he really wanted.
The rocky chain of the Lofoten Islands has cast a magical spell over us and we will be back to meet friends old and new. I am pleased that the guidebook we crafted has been so well received, perhaps we did justice to the place after all."
