Craggy Island La Sportiva Boot Camp

La Sportiva in conjunction with Craggy Island are running a boot camp at their new bouldering centre at The Oaks near Sutton on the 25th April 2009.

This event is designed to be a fun day out for experienced boulderers and those interested to try out the new facilities in a relaxed informal atmosphere.

Sportiva sponsored climbers Neil Gresham, Mark Croxall, Gavin Symmonds and Danie Rushmer will be in attendance, demonstrating techniques on the climbing floor, running workshops and being generally helpful with free advice.

Sportiva will be demonstrating their boots and you will have the chance to try them out on the wall.

In addition there will be a bouldering competition based on circuits, these will be graded at Easy, Medium and Hard and it will be up to competitors to enter at their chosen level with corresponding prizes given for each category. Every completed score card will then go into a draw.

Craggy Island 2 bouldering wall is the most comprehensive new bouldering venue inside the M25. The wall comprises of three areas in separate rooms, The 'cave and traverse room', the 'rock room' and the 'comp room'. The cave is over 50 meters of tunnels chambers and squeezes designed to give you a real experience of pot holing. The rock room has 95 set problems on a wide variety of angled boards, plus the real rock area which has gritstone, slate and flowstone sections and the comp room is mainly steep boards and ridiculous angles.

In addition outside will be slack lining and a bbq with a bar on site.

Normal entry prices will apply.
