C# / Javascript Developer in Chamonix, Recruitment Premier Post, 1 weeks @ GBP 75pw The French branch of Icon Software is seeking part-time or full-time developers to join our small, dynamic team based at the foot of Mont-Blanc in the Chamonix valley. Part-time positions offer flexible hours so you can make the most of living in the mountains.

About us

Icon Software develops bespoke desktop, mobile and web applications. Founded in 2009 and initially providing software to the oil and gas sector, Icon has since diversified into a range of markets including agriculture, online training courses and business intelligence applications. Our systems are used twenty-four hours a day by multinational oil companies, air traffic controllers, weather forecasters, mariners, farmers and scientists. They enable safe helicopter landings on hundreds of oil rigs around the world, prevent vessels colliding at sea, track antibiotic use throughout the UK farming industry and even guide self-driving robots through hospitals!

We are based in a friendly co-working office in Les Houches, full of people who love the mountains: climbers, skiers, cyclists and trail runners.

Requirements

We are looking for C# experts. You should understand generics, delegates, events, threading, streams and exceptions. You should be able to explain the difference between a variable, a field and a property, and the difference between a set, an array list and a linked list.

To begin with you'll be asked to add new features and fix bugs in existing applications. You'll need to find the best place to insert new code in line with whatever design patterns are implemented. Over time you'll be taking on a greater role in building new software.

You'll be developing web applications so a solid knowledge of JavaScript is essential. React and TypeScript are advantageous.

Part-time working

We are offering the option to work either part-time (24 hours per week) or full-time (35 hours per week). Part-time roles are flexible so you can usually take a day off if it snows, or for a last-minute climbing trip.

Gross salary

32,000 euros per year (pro-rata for part-time)

  • 25 days paid annual leave
