Mountain Equipment Lhotse Jacket

The Mountain Equipment Lhotse Jacket is the definitive mountain waterproof, and is Mountain Equipment's multi-award winning GORE-TEX® Pro jacket for mountaineers who require absolute protection. And we're giving you the chance to win one just in time for the winter season.

Providing unstinting weather protection for those that head into the mountains whatever the weather, the Lhotse Jacket has been an enduring development process, years in the making.

After 5 years of developing and testing GORE-TEX® Pro fabrics together with professional mountaineers and the team at WL Gorem, the Lhotse Jacket is now tougher and more comfortable in the most extreme conditions. Another 2 years of developing AquaGuard® zips by YKK® have created an ultra-durable and highly weatherproof seal.

Our Mountain HC hood design has had equal painstaking incremental improvements too, over a 6-year period. This has led to a design that gives uncompromised protection and vision with or without a climbing helmet.

Another 2 years of developing our Alpine Fit through the help of precision Swiss pattern cutters has ensured that the Lhotse is closer fitting to eliminate flapping in high winds whilst keeping freedom of movement around the arms and shoulders. Whilst a 12-year relationship developing the best construction techniques available in the world with our European manufacturing partners has meant unparalleled craftmanship in every jacket.

Of course, 10 years of real world testing by Mountain Guides and instructors at the National Mountain Sports Centre, Plas y Brenin, means that we've listened to every little piece of feedback and acted it.

And finally, our 38-year close partnership with GORE-TEX® fabrics has meant that we have relentlessly worked together to create the UK's best-selling GORE-TEX Pro® jacket.

This competition has now closed.
