It's been a decade since we launched the original Alpkit Jeanius Jeans and 7 long years since they ceased production. We've been searching for the perfect outdoor denim practically ever since and are very happy to announce that we are launching our new Jeanius and Sequence jeans, with a denim blend designed to let your legs express themselves freely: striding determinedly up hillsides; contorting into awkward bouldering moves; performing ridiculous Monty Python walks...
What are they?
Jeans for all scenarios and with hidden superpowers: made for movement; more durable, temperature regulating and with better wicking than regular denim jeans. They will put up with some serious abuse and deliver the performance you need for an early morning climbing session.
Sequence: Prioritising ultimate comfort and freedom of movement, Sequence are a regular fit jean with a relaxed cut through the leg, panelled knee articulation and a diamond-shape gusseted crotch.
Jeanius: Slim-fit jean with a subtle active cut: gently articulated knees and a diamond-shape gusset crotch. That means you can still see your feet when climbing and won't risk catching them in mucky bike chains.

What magic is baked into the fabric?
With four different fabric technologies, these aren't your average pair of denim jeans.
- Cordura® denim is 4x more durable than regular denim with improved abrasion and tear resistance.
- T400® Polyester provides long-lasting 4-way stretch and allows complete freedom of movement.
- Articulated knees and a diamond shape gusseted crotch enable you to move unimpeded.
- Coolmax® All Season polyester keeps you cool and dry in the heat.
- Thermolite® hollow-core fibres keep you warm in the cold.
Who are they for? What are they for?
Boulderers, climbers, and walkers will appreciate the enhanced durability, stretch and cut. Whilst the Jeanius can even be worn on short bike rides with slim-fit legs that don't flap or get caught in chains.

Ooh... nice. Hope they fit my fat thighs! They look great, but having tried Alpkit's nice looking canvas trousers by the time I could get a pair over my thighs the waist was way too big for me, so will have to get over to Hathersage Alpkit and try some on. Perhaps the more relaxed fit version of these will be a decent slim fit for me.
People who had the original Alpkit waterproof jeans seemed to love them, so nice to see they are having another go and keeping the price reasonable.
Psyched to try these too. Need another pair of bouldering trousers. I also hope they go over my big thighs!
I'm afraid they didn't work on my legs - but they are pretty broad (all muscle of course)... hopefully they fit Rob better as he's taken them to Font
Yup, absolutely loved mine... and the weatherproof concept of the originals meant that I could go ice climbing in jeans after work... which was nice, albeit a tad Texan... Trump skis in Jeans ;).
The Jeanius lost my interest as soon as I saw "slim-fit". Tempted to give the Sequence model a go in the hope they're more thigh accommodating.
I regret not taking a chance on the original Jeanius back when slim-fit wasn't such a regular thing.
