ISPO 2019 - New Clothing Roundup Show Report

© UKC

The annual ISPO trade show, which brings the world's outdoor industry together under one roof (or a series of gigantic roofs) in Munich, has just wrapped up for 2019. Heavy snowfall gave this year's event a suitably wintry feel, and if we'd really rather have been out in the nearby Bavarian Alps enjoying the conditions, our compensation was getting an early look at mountains of new gear that'll be hitting the shelves in the near future. Here are some video interviews with brand representatives, who talked us through the key features of their clothing creations:

  • Black Diamond - Vision Down Parka
  • E9 - Rondo Slim Pant Winter
  • Fjallraven - Wool Range
  • Mammut - Eiger Collection
  • Mammut - Eigerjoch Down T-shirt
  • Marmot - Avant Featherless Range
  • Marmot - West Rib Parka
  • Mountain Equipment - Gasherbrum Down Jacket
  • Mountain Equipment - Switch Pro Hoody
  • Mountain Equipment - Tupilak Women's Jacket
  • Rab - Infinity Jacket and Infinity Light
  • Rab - Muztag GTX Jacket and Pants
  • Rab - Pivot and Guide 2 Gloves

Just wondering, has Gore-Tex completely taken over the breathable waterproof fabrics market? Anything new about NeoShell, eVent, Dermizax, etc?

This new Future Light fabric from TNF is the latest non Gore-Tex fabric. Whilst they say they have extensively tested it, I wonder if they took it out last Friday in Glencoe and stayed dry... Looking forward to hearing what the Glenmore Lodge staff make of it. Feels like nothing has stood up to Gore-Tex in the last few years.

Those Marmot Featherless jackets look pretty cool. Not generally a big fan of stitch through but they look pretty cosy. Also 700fp is pretty impressive, I wonder how durable it is.
