Nature is waiting - Fjӓllrӓven launches its FW19 trekking collection Gear News

It is in the north of Sweden that Fjällräven began its journey more than 50 years ago and it all started with trekking. At Fjällräven, trekking is a year-round activity and whether on dirt or snow, grass or rock, Fjällräven founder, Åke Nordin, would always head outdoors to test his new products and innovations for their durability, functionality and reliability. This is still the way Fjällräven does it today; testing its products by heading into nature and using them in real-life and demanding situations all year round.

For Autumn/Winter 2019, Fjӓllrӓven has updated its Singi product family, a collection of garments developed with traditional Swedish trekking culture in mind. Functional and reliable when trekking for multiple days far from the beaten track, garments in the Singi family are ideal for those who want timeless style, but who place high demands on their clothing and equipment. The bestselling Vidda Pro Trousers have embodied this approach for many years and these popular trousers will be joined this winter by both a matching Vidda Pro Jacket and the new Vidda Pro Ventilated Trousers which have been developed to offer superior ventilation and mobility while trekking.

Vidda Pro Jacket

An outdoor jacket for all occasions, the Vidda Pro Jacket is designed in the same spirit as Fjӓllrӓven's renowned Vidda Pro Trousers. With its robust features and hardwearing G-1000 Eco fabric, it's a versatile, practical garment for year-round use. The G-1000 fabric can be adapted to suit the weather conditions with Fjӓllrӓven's Greenland Wax, simply apply more wax to make the jacket more wind or water-resistant, or wash the wax out for a cooler, more breathable garment.

Designed with eight practical pockets, the Vidda Pro Jacket easily accommodates many of your outdoor essentials making it ideal for longer treks away from the beaten track, as well as bushcraft activities. It features a two-way front zip with poppered storm flap and an adjustable hood that can be cinched in around the face for optimum protection and visibility. There are no shoulder seams to eliminate the risk of chafing when carrying heavy packs and integrated gear loops in the lower front pockets allow you to securely attach a knife, gloves and any other items you need to keep close to hand.

Vidda Pro Ventilated Trousers

Long distances, wild scenery and rough terrain are no challenge for the Vidda Pro Ventilated Trousers. Building on the bestselling Vidda Pro, these are seriously rugged trousers with improved ventilation thanks to a zipped opening that runs from hip to knee. The Vidda Pro Ventilated Trousers also feature a new and slightly slimmer fit which has been combined with a gusset in durable stretch fabric to ensure they still offer optimum mobility and freedom of movement. Made from hardwearing G-1000 Eco fabric (recycled polyester and organic cotton), the trousers can be adapted with Greenland Wax to increase their weather-resistance and durability. The strap adjustments at the leg endings can be removed and there are multiple pockets for carrying all of your outdoor essentials with you on the move.
