Mammut Smart Safety Device

© Mammut
The Smart Safety Device has been specially designed to meet the needs of the constantly growing group of climbing wall and sport climbers.

The Smart Safety Device dynamically brakes a climber in an accidental fall, and locks even when low levels of force are exerted by the user. In situations where the user has a sudden shock, the function corresponds to the reflex movements of the human body.

Some reviews from other websites:

"Kind of like a cross between a Reverso and a Grigri. It's a very cool piece of gear."

"It catches any fall easily. I personally think that lowering is easier with the Smart than with a Grigri or Cinch. This device feeds rope easier when the climber is pulling for a clip too."

"After using it, I went and bought one for myself because it was so affordable! Rapelling can be a little hard to get used to, but it's great for belaying, especially if you're small (like me) and belaying much larger people."

Suitable for:

  • All current HMS carabiners
  • Ropes from 8.9-10.5 mm diameter
  • Sport climbing
  • Climbing wall use
  • Training
