New Sea to Summit Self Inflating Sleep Mats Gear News

New for Spring 2017 Sea to Summit have launched a full range of Self Inflating Mats. The Self Inflating range joins the award-winning Air Sprung Cell Mats in offering a more comfortable sleeping experience for all outdoor adventurers. There is a mat for everyone in this range, from the gram counting ultra-light backpacker, to the car camper looking for a luxury sleeping mat.

The Technology

Sea to Summit have innovated to to make their range of Self Inflating mats thicker, lighter and easier to use. That innovation is Delta Core Technology. This technique reduces the volume of the foam by up to 40% which in turn reduces the packed weight and size of the mattress.

The biggest advantage of the Delta Core technology is that it keeps the top and bottom surface of the foam in one piece, this ensures the mat is consistently warm along the full length of the mattress. Sea to Summit deliberately avoided using vertical holes or frame-like gaps that allow warm air to escape. Another advantage to the full foam surface is that it massively improves the bonding of the foam to the shell of the mattress, which in turn reduces the chance of delamination.
