Winter Climbing Newbie

Just making the transition to winter climbing, been on a few routes (nothing major - No.1 / 2 on Helvellyn .. looking to get more involved and meet people to get out with ...   any suggestions as going on my own is not something I'm confident with yet...

Granted its a bit out your way but would be a good way to meet climbers and get away over the lakes
