Hi all

Visiting the lakes for the first time next week and would like to tick off some of the classic summits.

I would like to go up Scafell but would prefer to summit via a scramble or an easy winter climb. I'll be on my own so these need to be on the low grade end of the spectrum.

Any suggestions ?

Cheers

In reply to Aled Williams:If they are in there's loads of good options/variations starting to the right of Shamrock . You can incorporate any of Lord's Rake, West Wall Traverse, Deep Ghyll, or just wander anywhere further right via ice, snow, bits of rock and end up somewhere near the true finish of Lord's Rake. They all make for a very pleasant and varied day out, lead easily to the top of Scafell and are eminently reasonable on your own. All you need is for some conditions to build, but it looks quite promising at the moment. Have fun, whatever you do, John.
