Has anyone had a partial knee replacement and returned to ice climbing?

I had mine in December and have got back to my mediocre rock climbing but want to start thinking of next seasons ice and winter mountaineering.

I know it depends on the individual and I must be sensible but I would love to hear of some succsess

stories please.

I had an ACL reconstruction and repair of a torn meniscus done 10 years ago. I have had no issues since and today I climb harder on both rock and ice/mixed than I did before the surgery. Hope this helps keeping your stoke alive.

Thank you for your positive reply.

Having had amazing trips to Pembroke Gower and Dolomites and all around my stomping ground of Wye valley, Peak and north wales, I think I'm on an upward turn and have allowed myself to look forward to the winter.

If anyone is considering surgery I would highly recommend getting it done. After years of pain I can now do long walk ins and long multi pitches. Rockovers are still dodgy and my grade has not improved but I'm more than happy!
