Moline

Currently in Cogne and looking for a gentle rest day tomorrow. Thinking of visiting the roadside ice/dry tooling at moline. Seen the UKC crag page. Anyone got a topo or have any idea which route is good/ easy to identify? Cheers

This is close as good as a topo we could find http://www.enit.it/it/sediestere/asia/tokyo/territoriobrochures/category/77...

We accessed it from some steps opposite the hotel in Moline and also from the big lay-by just after Moline towards Lillaz. Loads of routes none to hard.

Brilliant thanks, plenty to keep us busy for a rest day. Out of interest are the routes bolted? Any recommendations? Thanks

Yes generally, although some of the rock, particularly in the left end, (left of sauvignon blanc) is a bit dodgy so exactly how good the bolts are debatable. It all depends what conditions are like. We were there about 3 weeks ago and it was good, lots of the lines were formed with good ice , might not be as much now but just in case, sauvignon blanc ( hanging pillar) was fun, also big country dreams and beetroot sausage were good fun

As Neil says really, everything we climbed was bolted, some bolted lower offs and some from trees etc. I guess most of the ice pillars and curtains will be gone now but should still be plenty to go at.
