I'm heading to Austria in early January for ice climbing, I've heard there is a new ice park at Oberried but can't find many details?

Eispark Osttirol also looks good, any details about it or other areas would also be appreciated, such as if there are in situ anchors particularly on single pitch routes, and if there's much there etc

Will be looking at leading routes up to WI5 but mostly WI3 - 4.

Thanks

Here's a link to the interactive listing at Climbers Paradise which gives a list of ice climbs (and other disciplines) near Innsbruck

Earlier this year there was a post on here from cragtyke which said: "a free 80 page guide for the Kaunertal area can be downloaded from the Issuu website: https://issuu.com/diewest/docs/eiskletterfuehrer_tiroler_oberland6."

That guide doesn't seem to be there any more so if you or anyone who downloaded it could send it to me that would be great!

The climbers paradise page is good but I still can't see anything about the routes in the ice park part of Oberried unless I'm missing something?

There's an extra character at the end of the hyperlink, try this instead:

The Oberreid Eispark was set up last year for the first time, there are probably about 10 lines there, some of about grade 4 on the left, but the main section looks to be pitches of about 35m at 5 or 6. Park as for the route Daumenschrauber in the oetztal section of the climbers paradise app. I've got some photos from last year somewhere that I'll try and put on.

The most reliable venues seem to be Ochsengarten in oetztal, and the Kitzgarten and Taschactschluct gorges in Pitztal. There are some details on the UKC logs.

The Osttirol Eispark has it's own site with topos etc on it, I think you may have to book a spot in advance when it's busy as they try to limit the numbers.

Ps. The Climbers paradise website has some useful location maps on it under the galerie sections for the routes, that aren't on the app.

There are a couple of videos of Oberreid on here posted by Ewald Holzknecht the guide who has the Alpin-treff shop in Laengenfeld.

The Pitztal and other side valleys of the Inn just West of Innsbruckk are good. There was a thread last year where I posted some links as well.

This is a link to the latest guidebook, the preview pages include the index of routes by area, showing grades, approach times and route lengths, which gives you a good idea of what's around.
