So, Hamish MacInnes made his last journey through Glen Coe today.

Fitting that the hills have their winter coats on.

Currently enjoying a good look through Scottish winter climbs.  I've always found inspiration from the fantastic b&w crag images and also humour, the photograph of a fully hoared Savage Slit  being heroically scaled, by Lilliputians, always brings on a wry smile.

Agree - it is a wonderful appreciation. It seems that he was a mountaineering polymath, constantly innovating to help others. And what a life - crammed with adventure!

Reading a Mick Fowler article from the 1980’s today about a route in the Caucasus. He mentioned that McInnes had traversed the whole range via a continuous ridge in a 13 day push. Mick described it as “epic”. Enough said.
