Hello

Has anyone been near or on Ben Lui in last few days. Just wondered if Central Gully had held much snow?

Webcam for Ben More at Crianlarich is only showing snow cover on very tops.

I just had a peek at the Ben More webcam and curiously there is a lot more snow on the hills than it seems from that camera view. I just drove past Crianlarich today, and Ben Lui is completely white. Looks tremendous, possibly about as good as it gets.

but get in there quick before the new snow arrives later in the week...

Agree with Kevin - drove past yesterday and it was completely white. Looked outstanding in the sun.

I did Central Gully last Wednesday & it was in great nick with solid snow ice most of the way - I'd recommend 2 axes on it. I wouldn't have thought conditions have changed much since then.

Went up Central Gully on Saturday, in good condition, a fair bit of old, frozen avalanche debris at the bottom, solid neve until the last 10 metres where there was soft snow with a thin icy crust. No real cornice and easiest exit over on the left as per guidebook description.
