A new BBC Two documentary follows Boots and Beards, the Scots Asian hillwalking grouporganising walks to help people from ethnic minority backgrounds explore the outdoors.
Founders and cousins Naveed Baksh and Kashif Butt started out by arranging small local walks to bring their families closer together. Step by step, their project grew in scale as friends joined and spread the word to others about walking in nature for pleasure, fitness, mental health benefits and social interaction.
