Thanks to Coronavirus, this has been the darkest ever year in the history of British hillgoing, but there have also been rays of light. Deprived of the usual urban pastimes, thousands of people discovered the joy of the outdoors and walking for the first time. And at the other end of the ability scale, 2020 was a also bumper year for hill running, as record after record tumbled. Here's hoping for more stability - and more hills - in 2021.
