Looking for some recommendations.

Camping barn sleeping 5-8, can be pretty basic as long as its close to a pub.

Thanks in advance.

Sabrina's place in Langdale is about as good as it gets.

Disappointed to see the Grasmere bunkhouse is now yet another up its own arse boutique hotel.

Did this camping barn thing with a group of mates, twice a year for 20ish years. Our "research "....

Cragg Barn Buttermere,  great, two nearby pubs although one now rebranded? Mind low beam as its funny for others when you smack your head on it in the dark.

Dinah Hogus, Scafell Hotel nearby. Great bar. Barn not so good when a p*ssed bunch of scallywags arrive back at 0200 and then die loudly of hypothermia in their lovely rectangular millets sleeping bags.

Murt Barn, wonderful but was flipping cold. The Screes in Nether W is a warming walk away.

Catbells Barn. Swinside Inn varied from brilliant to very average. Slight international incident caused by one of our supersonic snorers who really upset some German fellow Barn dwellers.

St John's in the Vale was the absolute favourite,  but walk to the pub was a long one. Drive there in the evening, walk back after plenty of cheer. Light the fire (Jeffrey) and enjoy the warm. Do the Dodds up Fisher Wife's Rake and then finish down the Pony Route off Helvellyn to pick the car up later the following day. Good use of a great walk.
