In the past, I've used the flat ground around the derilect building at Geldie ford as a campsite.   
The last time I passed that way in summer 2021, work was underway to renovate the building, with lots of building material, so we opted to go elsewhere.

Anyone know what the area is like at the moment - not looking to be in a bothy, specifically interested in whether it's a viable site for two or three tents.

The conversion from ruin to open bothy is just about complete and there is plenty room for tents outside, with most of the building materials used up.
